school career at Fairport with state championships in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle. He was named outstanding swimmer of the state meet.

Says Wood, "I think it's almost impossible to become really good by yourself. You need to fill yourself with other athletes in order to get great." He found that at Fairport. After swimming for two seasons at Newark, the Wood family moved to Fairport where Jeff became a champion. Now it's on to Orlando and the national meet where wood competes in seven individual events and four relays.

"My college coach will be down there with his team, said Wood. He'll be able to see me swim for the first time and hopefully do really well." He is off to Indiana University in the Fall where he'll swim for the Hoosiers and major in business.
