JV Team Wins OpenerA first place finish in 200 medley relay by Charles Wierzbicki, James Rafoth, Zakk Vice, and Sean Keyes was just how the JV Raiders wanted to kick off the season against visiting Spencerport last Thursday. The Rangers then had to settle for a third place in the 200 free as Fairport’s Ted Rakiewicz and Jonah King finished 1-2. Rafoth swam to first place finishes in the 200 IM (2:29.37) and the 100 back. Building on the early lead Keyes swam a 27.14 to touch first in the 50 free, and Vice claimed victories in the butterfly and backstroke. The teams moved to the diving well where Fairport’s Peter Shipman finished first with 65.45 points, with Jon Snelgrove close behind in second. The JV Raiders closed out the meet with first place finishes by King in the 100 free, and Rakiewicz in the 500 free.
