Swimmers defeat Rush-Henrietta
The Raiders downed visiting Rush-Henrietta, 101-75, last Thursday.
Fairport jumped out to the early lead in the 200 medley relay as the team of
Jenna Wood, Andrea Hageman, Stephanie Gross, and Michelle Dufault won in
1:55.57. Also earning points were the teams of Kaitlin Holden, Carrie
Ostrom, Esther Shinn, and Melanie Baron; and Nicole Stuver, Marike
VonHeydebrand, Nadia Keenan, and April Miller.
The 200 free had Webster (2:06.28) first, with Staci Woytash and Meghan
Ingerick competing.
Wood won the 200 IM (2:14.44) as Gross and Hageman also swam. The Lady Royal
Comets placed first in the 50 free.
Jennifer Chiang added another first in diving with a total of 218.90 points.
Dufault led Fairport in the 100 fly (1:04.53), while sisters, Staci Woytash
and Marci Woytash were close behind.
Rush-Henrietta placed first in the 100 free, but Fairport's depth continued
to add points the 500 free as Emily Gardner touched first in 5:24.76. Ostrom
and Shin also contributed.
The Comets earned their final first place by capturing the 200 free relay.
In the 100 backstroke, Fairport's Gardner won in 1:04.64. Carly Coughlin
(1:15.54) led Fairport in the 100 breast. Also contributing for Fairport
were Marike VonHeydebrand and Stuver.
Fairport ended the last event of the afternoon, the 400 free relay with the
team of Ingerick, Dufault, Holden and Shin taking first in 3:57.92.
