Swimmers edge Spencerport in dual meetOn Tuesday, Dec. 19, the Fairport varsity swimming and diving team
traveled to Spencerport to take on the Rangers. In a close contest, Fairport
was able The Fairport swimmers are coached by Mike Kennedy and Ryan Callan. The divers are coached by Dave Salmon. Fairport opened up the meet with three teams entered in the 200 medley
relay. The team of Dhruv Tyagi, Jake Fisher, Jon Steffen and Aria Salehi
finished second with a time of 1:51.81. The team of Jim Beaudry, Chris
Razavi, Brendan McLaughlin and In the 200 free, Dylan Scheemaker finished second, with Jones and Connor Harrington touching fourth and fifth, respectively. At this point in the meet, Spencerport enjoyed a four-point lead over Fairport. Koenig, Mihaljevic and McLaughlin competed in the 200 individual medley. With a 1-2-4 finish, Fairport took over the lead by four points and held the lead throughout the rest of the meet. Fisher, Steffen and McGrath touched 1-4-6 respectively in the 50 free. In the diving event, Dhruv continued his undefeated season with a score of 199.75. Colin Endsley finished second with a score of 98.95. Fairport’s lead increased in the 100 butterfly as Steffen, Beaudry and Kyle Kauffman touched 2-3-4 respectively. All three swimmers achieved sectional cuts times. Fisher, Koenig and Salehi teamed up in the 100 free. Fisher took first with Koenig right behind in second and Salehi finished fifth. McGrath, Jones and Mihaljevic swam the 500 free for Fairport. All three were able to achieve sectional cut times with a 4-5-6 finish. Right after competing in the 500 free, Mihaljevic swam the 200 free relay with Steffen, Koenig and Scheemaker. Fairport was able to hold off two strong Spencerport teams with a winning time of 1:39.47. While achieving a personal best time, Beaudry took first place in the 100

Salehi scored a total of nine points, insuring the win for the Red Raiders.
Both Harrington and Salehi swam personal best times. Fairport finished the
