Raiders sink Lancers

On Tuesday, Dec. 14, the Fairport swim team traveled to Eastridge. Fairport’s varsity bested Eastridge by a score of 97-71.

In the 200 medley relay, the team of Peter Koenig, Dylan Scheemaker, Connor Harrington and Brendan McLaughlin took first place with a time of 1:53.74. Jon Steffen, Kyle Kauffman, Nate Jones and Chris Razavi touched in fourth place. Steffen, Jones and Scheemaker all achieved personal best times.

In the next event, the 200 free, Jim Beaudry touched first with Aria Salehi right behind in second. Kauffman achieved a personal best time and took fifth place.

Fairport finished 1-2 in the 200 individual medley, with Nate Jones achieving a personal best of 2:20.47, Dhruv Tyagi was right behind in second.

McLaughlin out paced the field in the 50 free, with a personal best time of 24.67. Harrington touched for third place and Kyle Mihaljevic took sixth. Both Harrington and
Mihaljevic achieved personal best times.

There was no diving event at this meet.

All three Fairport swimmers in the 100 butterfly achieved best times. Razavi and Matt McGrath swam exhibition. McLaughlin’s 1:04.41 put him in third place.

Harrington, Steffen and Scheemaker swam the 100 free for Fairport. Both Harrington and Steffen achieved personal best times. Scheemaker swam exhibition, while Steffen placed first and Harrington third.

Koenig, Tyagi, and Mihaljevic teamed up to compete in the 500 free. With Koenig swimming exhibition, Tyagi took second and Mihaljevic touched for fifth place.

Koenig, Razavi, Tyagi and Harrington swam the 200 free relay for Fairport. They finished first with a time of 1:42.45 in front of three strong Eastridge teams.
Tyagi’s split was good enough for a personal best.

In the 100 back, Fisher, Steffen and Salehi competed. With Fisher swimming exhibition, Steffen placed first with Salehi in third. Both Steffen and Salehi swam best times.

Scheemaker, Beaudry and Jones finished 1-2-4 respectively in the 100 breast. Jones achieved a best time of 1:19.19.

The team of McGrath, Steffen, Salehi and Mihaljevic took on Eastridge in the 400 free relay. Fairport took first place with a winning time of 3:53.38.

The final score of the meet was Fairport 97, Eastridge 71.

JV team swims to 3-0

The Fairport junior varsity swim team extended its record to 3-0 with a victory over Eastridge. On Dec. 14, they traveled to Eastridge and came away with a 99-60 win.

Bianchi, Vice, Robbins and King finished first in 200 medley relay with a time of 2:02.67. The 200 free had Horowitz touching first followed by Rafoth. 2:40.31
was Georger’s winning time in the 200 individual medley.

Fairport then went 1,2,3 in the next two events. King (26.32), Vice and Rakiewicz taking the 50 free followed by Benson (31.64) Georger and Koenig in the 50 fly.

The 100 free had King swimming a 1:00.30 followed by Rakiewicz in second. Koehler’s time of 6:25.13 took first place in the 500 free.

Swimming the 200 free relay were Benson, Santini, King and Bianchi touching first with a 1:48.44. Vice, Rakiewicz, Horowitz and Robbins finished second.

Finishing out the scoring for Fairport was Robbins (1:09.65) with a victory in the 100 back.
