December 14, 2006 - Fairport's girls swim team had a successful state meet this fall, behind All-American Erin McGraw and a state champion 200 freestyle relay. By virtue of her times, McGraw qualified for the Kerr-McGee elite pro-am meet in Oklahoma this weekend. "I'm hoping just to hit some best times. I'm swimming a lot of events, I think that five is the limit, so, I'm just hoping to get best times," Eric McGraw said.

She will be joined by teammates Lauren Dufault, Emily Gardner and Devina Tyagi to form two freestyle relays. Also on the trip is Irondequoit junior Ricky Henahan, who is on the fast track to the Olympics. "I love swimming (against) the best. I love swimming against the top competitors in the country, so I can better myself as a swimmer and get the experience i need to swim at big meets like this," Ricky Henehan said.

The meet features only the best, like two-time Olympic gold medalist Ian Crocker. "I think it's great just to get experience at the big meets, as of now, so you can build up confidence going into other big meets, so, I'm taking it as experience and see what I can get out of it," McGraw added.
