October 28, 2006 — The Fairport girls junior varsity swim team
finished the season off with the MCCI meet on Oct. 28, at the Webster
Aquatic Center. All the girls competed in the normal event line up but
instead of swimming against one opponent team they swam against 16 different
swim teams across Monroe County.
This meet is always a fun meet for the girls, competing again with some of
the teams they met with during their season and others for the first time.
The pool was filled with excitement, many of the JV swimmers posted their
best times of the year. Some even made varsity sectional times that day.
The Fairport JV swimmers had a great year, their swim record for this season
was 9-2. This is a great group of young ladies, they put their heart and
soul into this season and they should all be proud of their accomplishments.
Coach Mike Fortner is extremely proud of his team and wishes the girls a
great rest of the school year.
The girls thanked Coach Fortner for his dedication to them and putting up
with some crazy girls at times.
