On Tuesday, Oct. 24 the Fairport girls varsity swim and dive team finished its regular season schedule against Greece - Arcadia and Olympia at the Olympia High School pool.

The afternoon's meet began with the 200 medley relay. Fairport relays of Staci Woytash, Stephanie Gross, Katelin Webster and Kelly O'Keefe; Devina Tyagi, Jenna Wood, Lauren DuFault, and Erin McGraw; and Nicole Stuver, Meghan Ingerick, April Miller and Esther Shin swam against their Greece competition.

The 200 freestyle had seniors Tiffany Chiang (2:08.48) and Morgan Reisch (2:11.24) and junior Carrie Ostrom (2:05.56) finishing with strong times.

In the 200 individual medley, Esther Shin (2:22.85), Andrea Hageman (2:31.60) and Meghan Ingerick (2:34.11) all competed. In the 50 free, Kaitlin Holden (26.82) led Fairport and was followed closely behind by Stephanie Gross (28.52) and Staci Woytash (28.82).

As the swimmers left the pool, Fairport divers, Jenny Chiang and Jen Juncosa stepped into the spotlight. Both teammates, continued to show the Fairport strength against Section 5 rivals with another round of precision diving and 377 points.

Brenna O'Neill (1:10.15) led Fairport in the 100 butterfly. Teammates Carlyn Robby (1:10.77) and Miller (1:13.66) finished with strong races. In the 100 free, Dufault (54.99) led the attack along with Hageman (1:01.96) and Susan Yang (1:02.26).

In the longest race of the afternoon, the 500 free, Fairport sent Tiffany Chiang (5:50.52), Stuver (5:55.04) and O'Keefe (6:06.54) to outpace the competition.

Fairport relays of Wood, Hageman, Tyagi and Yang; and Jenny Chiang, Esther Shin, Carrie Ostrom and Morgan Reisch competed in the 200 freestyle relay.

O'Neill (1:05.90) again led Fairport in the 100 back along with teammates Kaitlin Holden (1:05.92) and Katelyn Webster (1:08.39).

McGraw (1:11.65) led Fairport in the 100 breast. Also swimming the 100 breast, were Susan Yang (1:27.43) and Meghan Ingerick (1:29.52).

Fairport finished the afternoon with the 400 freestyle relay of Staci Woytash, Kelly O'Keefe, Stephanie Gross and April Miller. Fairport's victory enabled the She-Sharks to capture the Monroe County Division I title for the 2006 season. Final score: Fairport 107, Greece Arcadia and Olympia 66.
