The Fairport varsity girls swim and diving team continued its undefeated streak last week against the Churchville- Chili Saints.

On Thursday afternoon, Oct. 5, at Churchville-Chili High, the meet began with the 200 medley relay. Fairport relays of Lauren Dufault, Erin McGraw, Carrie Ostrom and Tiffany Chiang (first place), Emily Gardner, April Miller, Morgan Reisch and Esther Shin (second place) and Stephanie Gross, Staci Woytash, Kaitlin Holden and Kelly O'Keefe (fourth place) all had strong races.

In the second event, the 200 freestyle, junior Devina Tyagi led the Fairport swimmers with a first place finish (2:03.08). Devina's teammates, Andrea Hageman and Meghan Ingerick finished the 200 free with times of 2:13.68 and 2:15.16.

The 200 individual medley had Fairport's Tiffany Chiang finishing in first place with a time of 2:30.70, Brenna O'Neill in third with a time of 2:33.92 and Kelly O'Keefe in fifth place with a time of 2:40.93.

Sophomores Esther Shin, and April Miller and junior Nicole Stuver finished second, third and fourth in the 50 free.

The Fairport's Jenny Chiang was unstoppable in the diving event. Jenny claimed first place with a total of 266.65 points. Her total was good enough to set a new pool record.

The second half of the meet began with the 100 butterfly. Erin McGraw led the She- Sharks to a first place finish with a time of 58.09 and a new pool record. Fairport junior, Devina Tyagi (1:04.96) and senior Morgan Reisch (1:07.51) finished third and fourth.

In the 100 free, Fairport's Staci Woytash (1:01.41), Brenna O'Neill (1:03.63) and Nicole Stuver (1:03.67) finished second, third and fourth.

In the longest event of the afternoon, the 500 free, senior Lauren Dufault led the Fairport swimmers with a first place finish and a time of 5:19.30. Rounding out the Fairport swimmers in the 20- lap race was Kelly O'Keefe (third place) and Kaitlin Holden (fourth place).

Fairport continued to show its strength in the 200 free relay. Relays of Tiffany Chiang, Brenna O'Neill, Devina Tyagi and Lauren Dufault and Emily Gardner, Carrie Ostrom, Meghan Ingerick and Andrea Hageman finished first and second.

The team continued to add to the score in the 100 back. Erin McGraw finished in first place with a time of 59.38 and added her second pool record of the day. Teammates Staci Woytash and Esther Shin swam exhibition.

April Miller led Fairport in the 100 breast with a first place finish (1:17.92) while Stephanie Gross and Esther Shin also swam exhibition.

The Fairport Swim and Dive Team finished the last event of the afternoon, the 400 freestyle relay, with two exhibition swims. Fairport relays were Kelly O'Keefe, Carrie Ostrom, Emily Gardner and Andrea Hageman and Kaitlin Holden, Meghan Ingerick, Nicole Stuver and Staci Woytash.

Final score: Fairport 103, Churchville-Chili 78.

The Red Raiders won the meet, 103 to 78, and are 6-0.
