Fairport junior varsity swimmers beat Hilton

Fairport girls junior varsity swimming team had a busy last week of September.

On Sept. 26, Fairport swam against Hilton at Fairport. The JV team score was Fairport 115, Hilton 63. The girls relay teams once again came out strong. In the 200 medley, the team of Shruti Prasad, Liz Amann, Chelsey Barker, and Michelle Mula came in first with a time of 2:19.97. Nadia Keenan, Ashley Whitney, Hannah Huff, and Dana Hogg placed second. In fourth place was Rachael Misch, Stephanie Kahn, Meghan George and Melissa Hofer. All relay swimmers posted best times.

In the 200 free relay, the winning team of Keenan, Mula, Stephanie Symonds and Jamie Swieringa swam a time of 2:02.8. Kahn, Sarah Field, Misch and Courtney Pearsall placed second. Hogg, Katie Bonaccorso, Hofer, and Meghan George came in fourth. In the final relay, the 400 free, once again Fairport was first. Swieringa, Jessica Nemeth, Lindsey Haun and Maia Root winning time was 4:38.43. In third place was Amann, Field, Prasad, and Whitney and coming in fourth was Huff, Pearsall, Misch and Bonaccorso.

The 200 free, Swieringa came in first with a time of 2:23.7 followed by Haun in third. and Bonaccorso in fifth. In the 200 IM, Root came in second, Nemeth in third, and Field in fourth. The 50 free, Fairport took second and third, Pearsall in second and Hogg in third. Hofer placed fifth.

In diving, freshman Marie Stumbo took first. Keenan placed first in the 100 butterfly followed by Root in second, and Barker in fifth.

In the 100 free, Mula was first with the winning time of 1:05.10, Symonds second and George fifth. The 500 free, Haun was second, followed by Whitney in third and Nemeth in fourth. In the 100 back, Prasad came in first with a time of 1:16.91, Huff in third and Aman in fourth. In the 100 breast Symonds was second, Barker third and Kahn fifth.
