Fairport's Erin McGraw swam undefeated in Brockport, breaking meet records for every event she entered. In addition, McGraw was honored with awards of "Most Versatile Swimmer " and "Swimmer of the Meet ".

The meet began as the 200 medley relay team of Heather Moore, Andrea Hageman, Emily Gardner and Morgan Reisch took third place. McGraw won the 200 free (1:51.57), breaking her own Section 5 record; freshman Katelyn Webster placed 11th.

Devina Tyagi took second in the 50 free (24.98) and Reisch took eighth.

Fairport's best event was diving, where in a historic show of diving dominance, Fairport varsity divers swept first, second, third and sixth places. Freshman Jenny Chiang led all competitors with an 11-dive score of 439.10. Becky Bersani (422.40), Gretchen Schroeder (400.20) and Becca Kraft (298.30) completed the route, finishing second, third and sixth, respectively.

In a very exciting 100 breast event, Wood finished first (1:07.77), Hageman finished sixth, and freshman Ester Shin finished 12th.

The She-Sharks went on to win the 200 free and the 400 free relays. Fairport relay team of McGraw, Dufault, Tyagi and Wood broke the meet and Section 5 record in the 200 free relay (1:37.60). These same swimmers combined talents in the 400 free relay to break the meet, Section 5 and state record, with a winning time of 3:34.25.

Nine She-Sharks will be attending the state meet, being held Nov. 19 and 20 at the ECC Natatorium in Buffalo. At the New York State Diving Qualifying meet held on Nov. 7, Chiang, Bersani and Schroeder continued their magic, earning state berths. This is the first time Fairport High School has ever sent three divers to the state meet. Bersani (496.05) narrowly edged Chiang (495.95) for the night's high score. Schroeder also advanced easily, with a score of 458.30.
