Fairport 99, Greece Athena/Odyssey 78

Fairport varsity swimmers were in top form as they defeated Greece
Athena/Odyssey on Oct. 11.
The meet started off well as the 200 medley relay team of Devina Tyagi,
Emily Gardner, Carrie Ostrom and Morgan Reisch swam to a first place, with
the first three swimmers recording personal best times. Katelin Webster,
Erin McGraw, Stephanie Gross and Nicole Stuver took third, with Webster and
McGraw swimming personal best times. In the second event, the 200 free,
Meghan Ingerick raced to finish first, with Ester Shin close behind for
second. Both girls marked a personal best time, as did teammate April
Miller.
The 200 individual medley saw Gardner taking first place, Kelly O'Keefe
coming in third, and Sarah Lakehal-Ayat recording a personal best time.
Sprinter Lauren Dufault had a personal best time as she finished first in
the 50 free. Ostrom, also swam a personal best time as she took third.
The strong Fairport divers didn't disappoint, as they swept the event with a
1-2-3 finish. Becky Bersani dove to a first place finish, Gretchen Schroeder
second, and Rebecca Kraft, with a personal best time, scored third.
Flyer Staci Woytash had a personal best time as she flew to a first place
finish in the 100 butterfly. Brenna O'Neill swam to a third and Tyagi,
swimming exhibition, also recorded a personal best time. The 100 free saw
Reisch take first place, with Heather Moore in hot pursuit for a second
place finish. Jenna Wood marked a personal best time during her exhibition
swim.
In the 500 free, Webster splashed to a first. The 200 free relay team of
Wood, O'Neill, Reisch and Susan Yang raced to a first. In the 100 back,
O'Keefe took third, while Ingerick, swimming exhibition, marked a personal
best time.
Carly Callan raced to finish second in the 100 breast, finishing with a
personal best time. The meet ended with the Fairport 400 free relay team of
Webster, Shin, Stuver, and Lakehal-Ayat finishing second.
The final score was Fairport 99, Greece Athena/Odyssey 78.
