The Fairport She Sharks continued their fall season with two meets during the week of Oct. 18.

The first meet of the week saw the Greece Thunder visiting the She Shark infested waters of the Fairport High School pool. The meet began with the 200 medley relay team of Lauren Dufault, Erin McGraw, Staci Woytash and Heather Moore finishing first with a time of 2:01.91. Fellow teammates, seniors Kendra Hogg, Suzanne Flynn, Stephanie Yorio and co-captain Marlys Fuqua and the third Fairport relay of Susan Yang, Tiffany Chiang, Sarah Lakehal-Ayat and Carrie Ostrom followed close behind.

The meet quickly turned to the individual events beginning with the 200 free. Fairport senior and co-captain Clare Ostrom hit the water and finished with a first place time of 2:07.27. Fairport's Devina Tyagi and Lindsey Burris finished second and sixth. In the 200 individual medley, freshman Emily Gardner captured first place with a time of 2:24.64 and Stephanie Gross and Susan Yang captured third and fourth place.

The 50 free, shortest race of the afternoon, was next with Fairport seniors Kendra Hogg and Suzanne Flynn capturing first and second along with a strong finish by Tiffany Chiang.

The She Shark's gathered at the far end of the pool to watch the Fairport diving team of Gretchen Schroeder, Becky Bersani and Becca Kraft compete against Greece. The Fairport squad completed the series of challenging dives and Schroeder sprang to a first place finish with a total of 193.50 points. Teammates Bersani and Kraft finished in second and third, respectively.

The meet continued with the 100 butterfly. Claire Ostrom led the She Sharks with a first place finish of 1:07.27 and a double winner for the afternoon. Hogg and Yang splashed in second and fifth. In the 100 free, senior Stephanie Yorio captured first place with a best time of 1:00.65. Sophomore Andrea Hageman and junior Carly Callan streamlined their way to second and fourth places. She Shark junior Sarah Lakehal-Ayat led Fairport in the grueling 500 free with a best time of 5:49.20. Swimming exhibition for Fairport were freshmen Carrie Ostrom and Staci Woytash.

The 200 free relay had the Fairport team of Yang, Chiang, Carrie Ostrom and Hageman capturing second while the relays of Claire Ostrom, Burris, Gardner and Reisch and Moore, Gross, Fuqua and McGraw swam exhibition.

Lindsey Burris led Fairport in the 100 back with a first place finish of 1:09.26. Teammates Callan and Reisch finished in third and fifth place. Leading by an impressive margin, Fairport's three swimmers - Tyagi, Gross and Dufault all swam exhibition in the 100 breast.

The exhibition stretch continued into the final event, the 400 free relay with Flynn, Lakehal-Ayat, Woytash and Yorio, Claire Ostrom, Reisch, Gardner and McGraw and Hageman, Moore, Callan and Gross having strong races. The final score for the afternoon: Fairport She Sharks 103, Greece Thunder 69.
