Fairport 56, Gates Chili 46 January 20, 2004 The Fairport swim team opened the week with a solid win against Gates by a score of 56-46. Highlights of the Gates meet include two new pool records by Fairport. In the 200 medley relay the team of Jon Roberts, Jeff Kaemmerlen, Jeff Wood, and Matt McGraw set a new pool standard with a time of 1:42.54. Later in the meet, Roberts came back to establish the second pool record of the day in the 100 free with a time of 48.28. In addition, the team of Wood, Cyrus Salehi, Roberts and McGraw just missed the pool record in the 200 free relay set last year by Fairport. Although they missed the record, the relay posted Fairport's best time of the season with an impressive 1:30.79. Wood demonstrated that he is making solid progress from an early season injury by winning the 100 fly with the second best time in New York so far this season - 53.41. Kaemmerlen had an exciting come from behind victory in the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.80. Other Fairport swimmers posting personal best times were Alex Hensel in the 200 free and 100 breast, Aram Salehi in the 200 individual medley and 100 back, Hans Feng in the 500 free, Chris Razavi in the 500 free, Tim Jacobs in the 50 free, Roberts in the 50 back, Jerry Woytash in the 50 breast, and Nick Mihaljevic in the 100 back and 50 fly. Divers Pat Dineen and Eric Hallimen also performed well at Gates scoring important team points for the Raiders.
