The Fairport swimming and diving team met Churchville-Chili in its third meet of the season, with the coaches and senior co-captains Pete Letteney and Matt McGraw urging the defending state champions to improve their 1-1 record.

Fairport opened strong at Churchville-Chili's pool with a 1-2-4 finish in the 200 medley relay. Adam Craghead, Jeff Kaemmerlen, Jon Roberts, and Letteney won a close race against McGraw, Nick Mihaljevic, Hans Feng, and Cyrus Salehi. The quartet of Nate Morales, George Wasickinin, Reed Smith, and Chris Razavi placed fifth.

Kaemmerlen easily won the 200 free in 1:53.19. Aram Salehi was second in 2:02.58 and Alex Hensel was fourth in 2:11.81. Feng won the 200 yard individual medley, Razavi swam to a strong second place and Mihaljevic placed fourth. In the 50 free, the Red Raiders showed their consistency with their third 1-2-4 finish. Roberts led the way in a fast 22.45 seconds, followed by Cyrus Salehi in 23.25 and Letteney in 25.04.

Fairport's diving squad is young but improving from meet to meet. Eric Hallimen placed second in this event, and Pat Dineen was third. Next was the 100 butterfly, easily won by McGraw in 57.70 seconds, with Hensel and Smith finishing fourth and fifth. Cyrus Salehi led the next 1-2-4 Fairport finish in the 100 free, with Jacobs and Morales swimming well against their opponents.

Aram Salehi followed his brother's win with one of his own, improving his time in the 500 free by 20 seconds (5:32.40), edging out Feng who was second (5:36.59) and Razavi in fourth (5:51.06) who also both swam best times.

Kammerlen, Cyrus Salehi, Wasickinin, and McGraw finished first in the 200 free relay, and Hensel, Mihaljevic, Aram Salehi, and Letteney were third. In the 100 back, Roberts got win number two in a pool record time of 55.61 seconds. Jacobs and Morales placed fourth and fifth.

McGraw notched his second strong win in the 100 breast with a solid 1:07.97 swim, followed by Smith and Wasickinin in the No. 2 and No. 4 spots.

The Red Raiders closed with a 1-3 finish in the 400 free relay. Mihaljevic, Letteney, Jacobs, and Aram Salehi grabbed the win and Razavi, Morales, Feng, and Hensel were third. Final score: Fairport 103, Churchville-Chili 80.
