January 11, 2003 - Following the strong showing against Greece, Fairport returned to their home pool two days later to meet a normally strong Webster team. This was the final home meet of the year for the Raiders and prior to the meet the seniors from both Webster and Fairport were honored. Graduating this year from the Fairport squad are Ryan McLaughlin, Cuyler O'Brien, Kurt Schwarz, Jim Wood, and team captains Andy Amyot and Jeff Melvin. This year's senior class has helped keep the Fairport tradition of excellence in swimming and diving alive and they will be missed in the years to come. Fairport got things off to a strong start against Webster with a first and third place in the 200 medley relay. Jim Wood, Roberts, Jeff Wood, and Amyot posted their best time of the season, finishing first in 1:38.88. They were followed in third by the team of Kaemmerlen, Schwarz, Melvin, and Letteney. Roberts, McGraw, and Hamlin then helped Fairport open up an early lead with a 1-2-5 finish in the 200 free. Jim Wood then posted a solid 2:02.99 to win the 200 individual medley with Schwarz and Kaemmerlen adding to Fairport's point total by finishing third and fourth. Amyot won the 50 free for the second time in the week with a time of 22.69 with Salehi and Craghead finishing third and fourth. McLaughlin kept his streak of diving wins alive against the Webster team and helped Fairport open up a commanding 49-28 lead. Jeff Wood, Amyot and Melvin then finished 1-2-4 in the 100 fly. In the 100 free, Salehi, Letteney, and O'Brien finished 2-3-5 to give Fairport an almost insurmountable lead of 69-46. Jeff Wood then posted his second victory of the day and fourth of the week in winning the 500 free with an impressive time of 4:45.65. Jacobs and Hamlin both swam strong races and finished in fourth and fifth for the Raiders. Webster won the 200 free relay but Fairport was able to finish second and third with the team of Salehi, Craghead, Letteney and O'Brien followed by Schwarz, Jacobs, Hamlin, and Melvin. Jim Wood, McGraw, and Kaemmerlen then flexed Fairport's 100 back muscles with a 1-2-3 sweep. Roberts followed with a 59.80 in the 100 breast, less than one second off the pool record and good enough for his fourth individual win of the week. Schwarz added a fourth and O'Brien a fifth in the 100 breast to help the Raiders again outscore the Webster team. Fairport then finished off the meet with a 1-2 sweep in the 400 free relay with the team of Roberts, Amyot, Jeff Wood, and McGraw leading the way with a strong time of 3:21.70 followed by the team of Salehi, Kaemmerlen, Jim Wood, and Melvin. The final score was Fairport 106, Webster 77, extending Fairport's record to 6-0.
