Fairport, NY - Fairport opened against the visiting
Greece team by showing its depth with a 1-2-3 finish in the
200 yard medley relay. Roberts, Keith Schanck, Jeff Melvin,
and Jeff Wood swam a 1:51.05, Doug Potvin, Kurt Schwarz, Jim
Wood, and TJ Obenauf swam a 1:54.75, and Cyrus Salehi, Matt
McGraw, Tim Stockton, and Jeff Kaemmerlen swam a 1:55.92.
Next P. Kaemmerlen in 1:52.81 and Andy Amyot in 1:53.73 went
1-2 in the 200 free, with Vijay Parthasarathy fourth in
2:08.09. In a very close 200 individual medley, Potvin in
2:14.21 was touched out by .02 seconds, with Salehi third in
2:20.33 and Carl Adair fourth in 2:27.39. Jeff Wood won the
50 free in 23.14, followed by McGraw second in 24.49 and
Nick Reisch fifth in 26.64.
Crane and Ryan McLaughlin went 1-2 in the diving with 265.70
and 186.65 points, respectively. Fairport finished 2-3-4 in
the 100 fly, Chris Hamlin swimming in 1:02.38, J. Kaemmerlen
in 1:04.63, and Joe Lakin in 1:06.98. The 100 free was won
by Keith Schanck in 53.78 seconds, followed by Potvin in
third in 56.33 and Ian Phillips fourth in 57.40.
Fairport again went 1-2-3 in the 500 free, led by Schwarz in
5:26.95, Melvin in 5:36.52, and Obenauf in 5:58.08. The 200
free relay was a very close and exciting race, with the top
three teams finishing within a half second of each other.
Hamlin, Amyot, Phillips, and Potvin were second in 1:37.55,
followed by P. Kaemmerlen, Schanck, Jeff Wood, and Melvin in
1:37.91, and Reisch, J. Kaemmerlen, Salehi, and Jim Wood in
1:39.76.
Roberts won the 100 back in a fast 56.65, followed by
Stockton in 1:05.54 and Parthasarathy in 1:06.57. In the 100
breast, Jim Wood was second in 1:09.13, Adair third in
1:15.27, and Lakin fourth in 1:20.82. The 400 free relay
closed out the meet, with the quartet of McGraw, Reisch,
Schwarz, and Stockton the winners in 3:39.56, Melvin,
Roberts, Amyot, and Adair second in 3:46.98, and P.
Kaemmerlen, Obenauf, Parthasarathy, and Lakin in 3:50.83.
