Fairport Outscores Greece Olympia

     

January 9, 2001 - Fairport outscored Greece Olympia 90-65 to remain undefeated. Leading off with a win was the 200 medley relay team of Erik Schwarz, E.J. Amyot, Tyler Obenauf and Jeff Melvin in a time of 1:49.61. Finishing second was Corey Stark, Vijay Parthasarathy, Tim Stockton and Robert Teeter; fourth was Matt McGraw, Jim Keeler, Johann Bodensteiner and Joel Nauman.

In the 200 free, Adam Craghead was second, Mike Dank third and Dan Szweda fourth. McGraw was first in the 200 IM swimming 2:12.06 with Stockton second and Bodensteiner fourth. Fairport went 1-2-5 in the 50 free with Gavin Stark winning in 22.43, followed by E.J. Amyot and Nauman.

Due to a problem with the board, there was no diving. In the 100 fly, Obenauf was third, Szweda fourth and Parthasarathy fifth. Getting back on the winning track, Bodensteiner was first in the 100 free in 53.51, with Melvin fourth and Keeler fifth. In the 500 free, Stark was first (5:15.65) with Craghead second and Teeter third.

In the 200 free relay, the team of Stark, Szweda, Obenauf and Peter Kaemmerlen were second, with all other teams swimming exhibition. Teeter was second in the 100 back, with Keeler fourth and Schwarz in exhibition.

In the 100 breast, E.J. Amyot was first in 1:00.56, Stark was fourth and Dank was in exhibition. Fairport swam exhibition in the 400 free relay.
