October 26, 2000 - Fairport jumped out in front early as the 200 medley relay team of Erin Legg, Nicole DiBello, Krista Larson and Jessica Blaha took first-place honors with Katelyn Byrnes, Christy Breen, Jill Diesel and Susan Baylor grabbing second. Megan McGraw, Maureen McCullough, Rachel Gelman and Katie Barbato finished sixth. Swimming the 200 free, Kristin Schirmuhly took first, with Becky Potvin touching second and Carla Reidy was fifth. Fairport extended its lead as Krista Larson nabbed first in the 200 IM followed by Blaha in second and Brianne Duffy coming in fourth. DiBello swam a personal-best of 27.02 to win the 50 free while Baylor placed second and Kellie Kong took fourth with a season-best time. Going into the diving competition, Fairport held a commanding lead of 47-15. Diver Laurissa Prystaj set new school and pool records as she won the diving competition with a score of 269.80. Carrie Bryant came in second and Jen Cole was fourth. Returning to swimming, the She-Sharks racked up more points in the 100 fly as Breen, Legg and Gillian Micoli went 1-2-3. Next, was the 100 free, where Blaha placed first, followed by Diesel in fourth and McCullough in sixth. Larson and Schirmuhly grabbed first and second in the 500 free with Lauren Petersen touching sixth. In the 200 free relay, the team of Gelman, Duffy, Micoli and Reidy placed third. Swimming exhibition were Byrnes, Breen, Blaha and Potvin, as well as the team of Schirmuhly, Larson, Baylor and Legg. Fairport again took the top three spots in the 100 back with DiBello, McGraw and Kong who swam her second personal-best of the day. Diesel took fourth in the 100 breast while McCullough and Barbato swam exhibition. In the final event of the meet, the 400 free relay, the team of Micoli, Duffy, Reidy and McGraw placed second to end with a final score of Fairport 111, Brockport 74. The She-Sharks improved their overall record to 7-1.
