October 19, 2000 - The first event of the meet was the 200 medley relay won by Greece. However, Fairport, with its depth, finished second with the team of Jessica Blaha, Nicole Dibello, Christy Breen and Erin Legg; third with the team of Susan Baylor, Katie Barbato, Megan McGraw and Kellie Kong; and fourth with the team of Jill Diesel, Maureen McCullough, Gillian Micoli and Courtney Ames. The 200 free was an exciting race with the Greece swimmer just touching out Jamie Adams for first place at the wall with the time of 2:00.97. But again, Fairport's depth ruled with Kristen Schirmuhly placing third and Kaitlyn Byrnes placing fourth. The next event was the 200 IM which found Greece nabbing the first and second places with Fairport juniors Christy Breen and Megan McGraw placing third and fourth followed quickly by sophomore Becky Potvin in fifth place. The fastest event of the meet was the 50 free and resulted in a 1-2 finish for Fairport. Blaha placed first just touching out Krista Larson who placed second. Junior Jill Diesel won fifth-place points for Fairport. Diving was next and featured a first-place finish by Laurissa Prystaj, a second-place finish by Carrie Bryant and a fourth-place finish by Jenny Cole. The next swimming event was the 100 butterfly and was won by Fairport's Breen with Legg touching third with a season-best time and Brianne Duffy nabbing fourth-place points. The 100 freestyle resulted in another 2-3-4 finish for Fairport with Dibello placing second with a season-best time and Larson in third followed by Byrnes in fourth. The grueling 500 free was next and was won by Greece. Adams placed second followed by Potvin in third and junior Rachel Gelman finishing fourth for Fairport. The second relay of the day was next, the 200 freestyle. Fairport's teams of Potvin, Dibello, Adams and Larson won, followed by Blaha, Legg, Byrnes and Schirmuhly in second, and Lauren Peterson, Duffy, Carla Reidy and Diesel in fifth. The 100 backstroke resulted in a Fairport second-place finish by Schirmuhly, a fourth-place finish for Baylor and a fifth-place finish for Kong. These three girls all swam season-best times in this event. The 100 breast stroke also resulted in a 2-4-5 finish with Dibello placing second, Legg placing fourth and Barbato placing fifth. The final relay of the meet was won by Blaha, Potvin, Adams and Larson with the teams of Breen, Schirmuhly, Reidy and Kong, and the team of Duffy, Peterson, Micoli and Barbato swimming exhibition. Securing their fifth league victory of the year, Fairport defeated Greece I by the score of 109-76.
