October 05, 2000 - Gates Chili started strong in taking first in the 200 medley relay. Placing second were Maureen McCullough, Erin Legg, Jamie Adams and Jessica Blaha followed by Kristin Schirmuhly, Krista Larson, Courtney Ames and Rachel Gelman in third. Megan McGraw took first in the 200 free followed by a second-place best time for Katelyn Byrnes and Kellie Kong's best time exhibition swim. The She-Sharks repeated this finish in the 200 IM when Christy Breen swam a personal best for first and McCullough touched in second. Fairport went 1-2 in the 50 free sprint by Nicole DiBello and Ames. Next to the diving, where Fairport placed first and second. Laurissa Prystaj set a pool record of 250.60. Followed by personal bests for both Carrie Bryant and Jen Cole. Resuming the swimming, Gillian Micoli received second place with Carla Reidy placing fourth. Becky Potvin swam exhibition with her personal best time. Gates Chili was strong in the 100 free, taking first and second. McCullough took third followed by Barbato in fourth. Ames swam to her third best time of the meet in exhibition. Next came the 500 distance event where McGraw recorded her second first-place of the meet. Byrnes followed in third. The exciting 200 free relay came with Adams, Schirmuhly, Baylor and Blaha taking first-place honors and Gelman, Micoli, Reidy and Barbato taking third. Potvin and Lauren Petersen placed 2-3 in the 100 back with DiBello swimming exhibition. Larson won the 100 breast with Legg touching in second. The meet ended with Adams, Baylor, Blaha and Micoli placing first and Gelman, Barbato, McCullough and Petersen placed fourth. The final score of the meet was Fairport 63, Gates Chili 39.
