“In 1990, we lost our only dual meet to the combined Greece swim team. That year, we had heard rumors that they were resting and shaving for the dual meet. Coach gave us about 3 days of tapering for the meet, but we still got crushed by them when the rumors turned out to be true. We ended up crushing them at sectionals but the damage was done. We also got out of Coach Clark the promise of not making any of our swimmers exhibition the following year (1991) when we met them again, as long as we didn't do any 1-2-3 chants. We won every event the following year and would have doubled their score had our 200 Free Relay not had a false start; It was great revenge.”
