Fairport 120, East Rochester 52 February 1, 1979 February 1, Fairport Varsity swimmers beat East Rochester, 120-52. The medley relay team of Doug Lyles, Don Cropek, Jim Wilcox and Dave Pearce placed first. Bob Margach, Mike Wess, John Diggins and Pete Engel were third. In the 200 free, Doug Peel was first, Matt Clark second, Tom McLean was fifth. Lyles placed first in the 200 I.M. and Fred Eggert was third. Dave Heacock, Dennis Peck, and Karl Newton went 1-2-3 in the 50 free. Divers Don Potter, Tim Pullis and Fontaine also placed first, second, and third. In the 100 fly, Lyles was first and John Mulhall was third. Pearce was first in the 100 free and Walt Meyers, third. In the 500 free, Wilcox was first with Eggert and McLean placing second and third. In the 100 back, Peel was first and Tom Goetz was second. Kurt Hebert won the 100 breast and Cropek placed third. The free relay team of Clark, Peck, Heacock and Goetz placed first.
Scott Turner, Engel, Newton and Mulhall finished third.
