Tuesday, December 12, the Fairport varsity swimmers won their first meet of the season, against Thomas. the score was 122-47.

In the 200 medley relay, the team of Dave Heacock, John Mulhall, Dennis Peck, and Doug Peel took first place. The team of Doug Lyles, Don Cropek, Fred Eggert, and Kurt Hebert placed second.

Matt Clark won the 200 free; Dave Pearce was second, and tom McLean was third.

In the 200 I.M., Jim Wilcox swam to second, John Mulhall third, and Fred Eggert was fourth.

Fairport's Doug Peel place first in the 50 free. Teammates Don Potter and Karl Newton were third and fourth.

Diver Don Potter place first in that competition, with Tim Pullis taking third.

In the fly event, Clark, Peck, and Lyles placed second, third, and fourth, respectively.

Peel was first in the 100 free, and Pearce was third.

In the 500 free, Fairport won the first three places, with Wilcox, McLean and Eggert, in that order.

Back winner was Dave Heacock, with Scott Turner second, and Bob Margach fourth.

John Mulhall took first place in the 100 breast; Don Cropek was second, and Kurt Hebert place third.

The team of Clark, Wilcox, Peck, and Heacock placed  first in the 400 free relay. Teammates McLean, Wess, Newton, and Pearce were second.
